Originally from Washington State, I received my BFA from Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland Washington in 2000. Though my mother would argue that my study of art began as soon as I was able to sit up on my own and hold a pencil, and when I consider my life as an artist and the things that inspire me I think she is right. After finishing a BA in Geography from Central Washington University in 2002, I burned all of my artwork, that is what I didn't deposit at my local landfill, and set off across the US to rediscover my creative inspiration. After visiting several communes and ecovillages I arrived at IDA, a queer artist's commune in Tennessee, a place that has become my second home and family. Since then my art has moved in a new direction and my creative process has been greatly inspired by the people I've met and experiences I've had. I later moved to Florida where I completed my MS in Soil and Water Science at University of Florida in 2006. After spending five years in Maryland (and 2 years in the wrong PhD program) I have finally made it back to the west coast. I'm currently residing in the Tucson area in the Santa Rita mountains and hope to start a new PhD program in Anthropology at the University of Arizona.
